Last Wednesday our class delved into the array of possibilities when introducing notation software in the classroom. We experimented with different forms of both free and paid notation software and compared them against each other on a number of fronts such as usability and practicality. Software that was experimented with included; Sibelius, Finale, Musescore and Noteflight. We also discussed ways which different forms of software can be used in class and at home (for students) through saving files as music XML files. An enriching experience to learn about possible notation software we can use as teachers in our classrooms.
