Today I worked for a short period of time on my ‘Music of the Last 25 Year ‘Australian Focus’ Unit of Work’ for my Teaching Senior Secondary Music course. I focussed today mainly on completing the program aspect of the unit of work which is now done. I now need to look at expanding this program into full lesson plans and accompanying this with appropriate resources which will be included in the iBook which I am using as a method of teaching during the unit.
The unit now has a 7-week program incorporating all key learning areas (Performance, Composition, Aural and Musicology) as well as ensuring that students are given a substantial amount of time to practice their instruments as well as develop a portfolio of compositional ideas. I look forward to working more on this unit and the accompanying resources in the near future.
