It has been a couple of days since I last updated my blog with my progress for this new unit of work that I’m writing but I have been so busy writing and compiling the resources I haven’t stopped.
A little bit of an update: I have just completed the resources for week 4 of my unit and my iBook which means that I am over halfway through the resources that I have to create which is fantastic and I am really happy with how hard I have been working on this unit. The resources I have written, compiled and included so far span from classroom arrangements to YouTube recordings, multiple widgets to aid student learning, explanation videos and scores. The most difficult resource to create so far was probably the classroom arrangement of Gnomus from Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky as the score was quite difficult to read. This piece has been included in this unit for a specific purpose. Mussorgsky similarly to Vine in the focus work for the unit, uses the compositional technique of dovetailing to aid his composition and such Gnomus is included as one of the resources for my teaching of dovetailing to the students.
I have taken the following screenshots to give you a better understanding of my progress.
